4. Opening Concert: From the New World

The official opening concert launches the festival with power and energy: first, theme composer Nicky Sohn’s brand-new A Tale of the Bunny and the Tiger, followed by the premiere of Vladimir Agopov’s Double Concerto for Cello and Violin.
The evening culminates in Antonín Dvorák’s beloved Ninth Symphony, commonly known as From the New World — a work that blends Central European symphonic tradition with inspirations from American folk music.
